My Jewelries…
Every girl loves a piece of jewelry and I am no exception. But I didn’t grew up with diamonds, rubies, sapphires and pearls around. Instead when I was a little I am so lucky to get to wear some expensive jewelries on special gatherings.
I remember watching my Mom tacked away her jewelries and each time she wears them, she wears them with extra care like one of us her children and same thing as she takes them off. She always make sure it is clean and even brush them with toothpaste and each time she tacked them away and make sure it is return to their special containers. Each of her jewelries have their own containers.
My sister and I had our own sets as well but jewelry just doesn’t appeal to me that much, except for a simple earrings. Baby sister like the platinum one while I don’t mind if I got the real ones or trinkets given by friends, bought from the store or even hand made. My daughter share the same thing with me.
As I grew older I learned to appreciated to have a few real ones I appreciate them as the person who gave it to me. But I still have jewelries from way back in Philippines that was given by friends and family. I still wear them and keep them tacked in my little jewelry box.
I do not have the musical one or with the ballerina twirling around instead it’s just a small green chinese box with me few special ones and of course the not so real one’s given by real people are tacked away in their own special chinese red box. Green for the real ones and red for the semi-precious ones and yellow for the hand made trinkets.
As I became a Mom and a Wife I have learned that the real jewelry is my family. They are the diamonds, rubies, sapphires, pearls, gold, platinum and titanium of my life.
